The challenge will start and end with a body composition analysis, completed using a Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA). This will help you understand your own body, and see how much you achieved in the 8-weeks. The challenge is open to everyone - you don't need to be a WFC member to participate in the challenge, so if you've been trying to get your friends or family members on board with your fitness goals as well, this is a great way to help them jump in too in a supportive environment.
How does the scan work?
BIA works by sending a light and harmless electrical current through your body.A person's total body weight consists of various masses - e.g. fat, muscle, bones, tendons, ligaments, and water - and each of these conducts electricity in different ways.
By measuring the electrical resistance of these masses in the body, the test is able to accurately measure what percentage of your total body weight is made up from each mass type. Overall weight on its own is of little meaning, and far too many people base their health and body goals based on the number they see on the bathroom scale. Even if a person's total body weight is within a normal range, they may still have an unhealthy or altered body composition. For this reason, a BIA scan is an integral part of your health and nutritional assessment for the challenge.
The scan process is quick, user-friendly, and non-invasive. With over 20 measuring parameters, a body composition analysis using BIA is the easiest way to track muscle mass gains, fat loss, hydration levels, muscular imbalances and so on.
What do I get?
In addition to the scan, you will be guided to develop clean and healthy eating habits that you can follow in the long term. This 8-week challenge is the perfect opportunity for you to knuckle down and focus on your nutrition in a supportive and encouraging environment to learn to listen to your body and what it is telling you about the foods you are using to fuel it, and to develop lifelong habits you can share with your family and friends to life a happier and healthier life.

If you would like further information about how it will run, we will be holding an information night at the club on Friday evening, 15th of September, at 6PM. This will be a great opportunity for you to come a long to find out exactly what you have to do during the challenge and how it will run. This will be the perfect opportunity to drag your friends and family members along to help get them on board with your fitness and health goals as well. Having a training buddy and friends and family around home who are in the same boat as you helps keep you on track, so bring them along to the info night too!
